Hello, I’m Michelle Erfurt!

I studied Music Therapy at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and am an official music therapist with national board certification. I’ve also completed specialized trainings in Neurologic Music Therapy and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Music Therapy. I’ve gotten the opportunity to work in a variety of different settings through the years and my heart lies in medical and hospice agencies. I have also helped out by volunteering for the American Music Therapy Association as the Membership Committee Chairperson and Student Advisor for my region and as the Local Committee Co-Chairperson for the 2013 AMTA national conference.

Right now my time is devoted to supporting music therapists.

My blog shares tips, insight and resources for music therapists. My corresponding podcast shares EVEN MORE tips, insight and resources! My bi-monthly newsletter features a series that helps you update your professional information. My eBook, The Networking Workbook, guides you through the process of preparing for any networking event. My bag, the Boom Tote, is the perfect way to carry a standard set of Boomwhackers®.

Music Therapy Round Table

Music Therapy Round Table

MTRT squareThe idea to start a music therapy podcast began as a tiny seed, planted by Kimberly Sena Moore when she, Rachel Rambach and I got together for the first time in person at the 2009 American Music Therapy Association National Conference in San Diego. A few emails, Skype calls, and Facebook messages later, we were ready to record our first episode. The podcast officially launched in February of 2010, and we’re still going strong! In 2014, we welcomed a fourth member, Matt Logan, to the Round Table.

In this blog I talk about products and services that I have used and would recommend to others. I do have business relationships with some companies/individuals/products I talk about. I may receive a commission if you purchase something I mention. I would NEVER recommend something I don’t truly endorse. That just wouldn’t be nice! If you offer a product you’d like feedback on, please contact me, I’d love to test it out for you. Contact me here.
